The keys you see here were donated by Duncan Mackintosh, key collector and master locksmith, of Keys Galore.  One of these keys is the original front door key for ‘Denny’, the shipbuilder’s house in Dumbarton, which was bequeathed to Keal’s School, (no longer standing), whilst the smallest key of the set dates to 1798.

The wood lock is from WW1, at which time, due to a shortage of metal, wood was used, and is most likely that the lock is from a house in Helensburgh.
