1996 The “Jubilee Branch” within Helensburgh becomes The Helensburgh and District Branch of The Royal British Legion Scotland. The purpose of the local branch is to continue to raise funds to support the Royal British Legion Scotland and veterans causes,  and offer comradeship and support to ex-service personnel adapting to civilian life within their community.

The Helensburgh and District branch arrange an annual Remembrance Sunday parade, which takes place at the cenotaph in Hermitage Park and involves the entire Helensburgh community young and old. At the 2014 Annual Conference it was agreed that Royal British Legion Scotland would now be known as Legion Scotland.
